A highly skilled team of digital finance experts made a welcome visit to Bromford this month (May 2023), bringing with them invaluable money-saving advice and a plethora of digital tips and tricks.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, the Digital Eagles team from Barclays joined their colleagues to share information and demonstrate how digital solutions can help reduce the impact of increasing living costs. The team were also keen to enhance household's financial planning capabilities and safeguard hard-earned savings from inflation.

Reflecting on the webinar, Louise Beasley, HR specialist, expressed:

We’re aware that the impact of rising prices is being felt by our colleagues as well as our customers. We’ve created a central hub of information to support colleagues during the rising cost of living. The course delivered by Barclays for our colleagues was a great addition to this ... We are now exploring opportunities to roll out the workshop to our customers.

Colleagues who attended the event spoke positively about their experience and highly recommended similar sessions to others. They expressed appreciation for the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, with the sections on budgeting, credit card management, and cost-saving tips receiving the most praise.

Senior treasury manager Marc Kusicka said:

We have a strong, long-standing partnership with Barclays as a clearing bank and one of our key funders and strategic partners. We have loans with Barclays and they have played a key role in our engagement with our investors in the capital markets over recent years. We’re delighted to be working with them once again during Mental Health Awareness Week to provide our colleagues with advice on digital tips and tricks that could save them money. As part of our broader sustainability drive, we want to work with more of our strategic partners to co-create and deliver more services that enable our colleagues and customers to thrive.

The session was one of a number of events for colleagues that we held to mark Mental Health Awareness Week.
