A CGI image of how one of the homes will look like when builtWe have agreed a new partnership deal with Countryside to provide 89 new affordable homes in Cradley.

Countryside previously acquired the site from Homes England and recently srecured planning for the 6.9-acre brownfield site. Countryside have now finalised a contract with us to deliver the homes on our behalf, with work due to start in the new year.

The new homes will be a mix of one-bedroom apartments, and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses, each of which will have their own parking spaces, with 60% of homes for rent and 40% for shared ownership. The new homes will be well served by local schools and services, with good transport links to nearby areas. The development will retain substantial green space on the east of the site, which will include a new artificial badger sett.

Bromford development manager Emma Flood said: “We’re thrilled to be working in partnership with Countryside to regenerate this disused site and provide affordable homes for local people. There is a nationwide shortage of affordable housing and the situation in Dudley is no different. Countryside is one of our valued partners, so it is great to be working together to deliver much needed affordable homes.

“These homes will provide people with a safe and secure place to live, allow them to build relationships in their community to enable them to thrive.”

Phil McHugh, Managing Director, West Midlands, Countryside said: “It is fantastic to be working with Bromford at the site in Cradley to deliver much needed affordable homes for the area. By developing partnerships with registered providers such as Bromford, we are able to create truly sustainable communities where people love to live.”

As well as these new homes we are also working together with Countryside to build new homes in Telford and Bath. Last year we built 1,224 homes including 444 homes for social rent, making us the fifth biggest housebuilding housing association in the country and the biggest builder of social rent homes.
