Our latest development of affordable homes in Tetbury is taking shape.

We’re building 30 new homes off Quercus Road on the northern outskirts of the historic market town. The homes are a mix of two and three-bedroom houses plus a block of one-bedroom flats, which are all for social rent.

Chief investment officer Martyn Blackman and Board member Richard Bird visited the site this week to see the progress so far, accompanied by project manager Abby Ranger.

New homes in scaffolding being built at Quercus Road, TetburySpeaking after the visit Abby said: “We’re delighted with the progress our development partners EG Carter have made since we started on site in Tetbury in the summer. Scaffolding is down on the first of the homes already and you can really see all the other taking shape. We know there is demand for quality, affordable homes in the Cotswolds, where house prices are 14 times average incomes according to figures by the National Housing Federation.

“The homes are in a great location, next to an open, green space and close to local amenities. We can’t wait to welcome our customers into their new homes next year.”

The homes in Tetbury form part of our strategic goal to build 6,500 new homes in the period 2019 to 2023, and to build 1,500 in the current year. Last year we were the biggest builder of homes for social rent according to a report from Inside Housing.

The new homes at Quercus Road will be available to rent on Homeseeker Plus in 2022.
