Construction on track at Holly Road MyPlace scheme

The site of a former village pub in Telford is well on the way to being transformed into a brand new multi-million pound supported housing scheme.

Roof tiles were fitted recently and the plastering is about to start as Bromford forges ahead with its second MyPlace development in Telford. The site, in Holly Road, Little Dawley, used to be home to the Red Lion pub before it closed around two years ago and was demolished as part of our £1.6m investment in the area.

The MyPlace site features 14 self-contained one bedroom apartments and would give adults with learning disabilities the opportunity to live in their own home. The proposal also includes a communal hub, kitchen area, site office, car parking and landscaped gardens. It will also be the first development of its kind to have a high-tech automatic sprinkler system fitted throughout, further enhancing the safety of customers who will make it their home.

The project was given planning permission by Telford & Wrekin Council in January 2017 and is now on track to open by August. It comes after Bromford opened its inaugural MyPlace scheme in Donnington, called Orchard Place, in August 2017.
