Housing partnership brings more affordable homes to Gloucestershire

More than 100 much-needed new affordable homes will soon be coming to Moreton-in-Marsh thanks to a partnership between Bromford and national house builder Bovis Homes.

A total of 105 properties, ranging from one-bedroom apartments through to five-bedroom family homes, are currently under construction at Bovis Homes’ The Avenue location, and will be allocated by Bromford for both rent and shared ownership.

The partnership is the latest in a long line between the two organisations, which has seen them deliver similar projects at other Cotswold locations including Bloxham, Tetbury and Kemble. 

Chris Holland, head of development, said: “We are thrilled to have teamed up with Bovis Homes and as one of the main providers of affordable housing in Gloucestershire, we know this is an area we can really make a difference in.

“The demand for affordable properties to rent is high and by incorporating shared ownership into the site, we are also giving people who can’t necessarily afford to buy on the open market a brilliant opportunity to get on the property ladder.”

We look forward to seeing the first residents move in.”

In total, the new affordable homes at The Avenue will consist of 31 one-bedroom flats, 48 two-bedroom houses, 25 three-bedroom houses and one five-bedroom house. The first of these homes are expected to be completed this spring, with residents moving in shortly after.

They are being delivered alongside 125 open-market and 20 Discounted Sale Home Ownership (DSHO) Bovis homes, ranging from two-bedroom starter homes to five-bedroom family houses.
