Bromford has joined forces with a new care company to provide around-the-clock support to residents at a Lichfield retirement living complex.
Radis Community Care, based in Tamworth, has been chosen to deliver the care contract at Beacon Park Village, on Lower Sandford Street. Last August it was revealed that ExtraCare Charitable Trust, which has managed the landmark development since it opened in 2005, had opted to withdraw from their contract ending on 31 March 2017.
But following a successful transition between services, staff from Radis will now provide tailored care packages to customers who require care in the village on a 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week basis.
Bromford, owner of the 135-bed property, will for the first time in its history take over the overall running of the facility. This will mean looking at extending opening hours at the on-site restaurant, coffee bar and gymnasium to attract greater involvement from the wider community. There will also be a drive to host a number of community events, conferences and other group activities catering for up to 200 guests at a time.
Throughout September, Bromford ran a consultation with customers where they were asked what they would like the service to look like in future. And to celebrate the new partnership between Bromford, Radis and residents, an afternoon tea launch event was held on Monday 3rd April complete with live entertainment and refreshments.
Helen Shields, Bromford’s retirement living business manager, said: “Radis is an established community-based care and support provider which offer very bespoke services tailored to the individual which fits with our own ethos of developing a trusting relationship with each and every Bromford customer. We’re pleased the transition to this new care provider has been completed so seamlessly and very much look forward to working with Radis moving forward.
“In terms of Beacon Park Village itself, we’re excited to be taking on a leading role in the day-to-day management of services and hope to open the various facilities up to more local people in Lichfield.”
Radis Community Care’s commercial director Mike Padgham, added: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Bromford at the Lichfield retirement living complex. We’re an established family-run care provider and pride ourselves on delivering high quality care to those people we support. We’re very much looking forward to supporting the residents in Lichfield and encouraging them to live independently in their own homes.”
