Bromford colleagues are wearing white ribbons today as they pledge to ending abuse against women and girls.

We’ve pledged our support for White Ribbon Day 2022 and made ribbons available for colleagues to pick up and wear at all of our main offices. Wearing the white ribbon is a promise to never use, excuse or remain silent about men’s violence and abuse against women.

And we’ve invited domestic abuse campaigner Nick Gazzard to talk about his experiences in a podcast which is being shared with colleagues. Nick and his family founded the Hollie Gazzard Trust in 2014 in memory of his daughter who was murdered by her former partner. Hollie was just 20 when she was stabbed to death in the Gloucester hair salon she was working by her ex-partner after she ended their relationship. Since then, he has campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the devastating effect it can have.

Nick spoke with locality manager Ash Bayliss, who said: “Nick Gazzard is an inspiring speaker and I was delighted he agreed to come and talk with us this week. Out of the unimaginable loss of his daughter who was murdered while at work, Nick and his family formed the Hollie Gazzard Trust with the aim of reducing domestic violence and ensuring other families don’t have to go through the heartache that they’ve endured.

“We’re talking to Nick about the impact his experiences have had on his family and the work he’s done since to improve education and reporting of domestic abuse. We also be discussing what we are doing at Bromford to address issues facing customers and colleagues.

“Bromford has committed to support White Ribbon Day and we’re encouraging colleagues to do the same today by wearing a white ribbon.”
