Work is under way on a new affordable housing development in Gloucestershire.

Bromford* is constructing three new homes in Hayfield, Marshfield, South Gloucestershire, together with their construction partners Speller Metcalfe.New homes sketch

The development consists of three two-bedroomed, four person homes with parking and garden space and all are available for social rent. Work began on the former grass amenity space earlier this month and the three timber-framed buildings will be in keeping with the local area.

Regional development manager Ellen Copeland said: “Bromford is known for its many larger scale housing developments, but we focus just as keenly on the smaller projects where there is a need for affordable housing.Green space where houses will be built

“There is a shortage of this type of housing in the village so we are delighted to be able to provide these new homes which will be ready for customers to move into by March next year.”

Mark Eaton, manager for Speller Metcalfe’s Living Division, said: “We are looking forward to collaborating with Bromford on this small new development which will bring much-needed affordable homes to the area.

“As a local contractor we have extensive experience of building high quality, affordable homes across Gloucestershire, and are looking forward to seeing these new homes take shape over the coming months.”

*Bromford is one of the biggest builders of affordable housing in the country and aims to increase its development programme by 12,000 new homes by 2028.
