Solihull MP Lorely Burt has paid tribute to the work of Bromford Support after visiting the Tivoli Court scheme in Shirley.
Bromford Support opened the scheme specifically for adults with learning difficulties in March 2011. Based just off the Stratford Road it provides customers with support and care that allows them to live independently.
Mrs Burt was shown around the flats by resident Stephen as well as Helen Horsfall, the service manager of the Solihull team, who told Lorely about the services that Bromford provides.
Commenting, Lorely Burt MP said:
“I was hugely impressed with the facilities that they provide Stephen with, and I saw for myself how happy he was to be able to live by himself. The freedom that it gives him is fantastic.
“Housing is a huge problem in the UK, and one of the groups that isn’t talked about enough is vulnerable adults who rely so much on specialised housing and care.
“The work that Bromford are doing right here in Solihull shows how housing associations can work to deliver solutions that work for everyone.”
