Bromford’s partnership approach to delivering new homes in south Gloucestershire has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

Since 2016, we have been working hand in hand with United Living South (ULS) – specialists in refurb and new build living solutions – to regenerate four significant sites in the south of our operating area. And this partnership with ULS, along with the close links formed between the site manager and key supply chain members including employers’ agents, local support agencies and community groups, has now been recognised at a national level.

The entry has been shortlisted by a panel of expert judges in the ‘Best general partnership’ category at this year’s Inside Housing Development Awards. Taking place in London on Wednesday 27 November, Bromford and ULS will be up against some of the most successful partnerships in the housing sector including Places for People, Trafford Housing Trust, and L&Q.

So far the partnership has delivered 66 homes across four south Gloucestershire sites over the past three years with a further 17 homes recently completed at our latest regeneration site at Collins Avenue in Little Stoke. The nomination, compiled and submitted by ULS, explains how close working between the teams and the implementation of joint traffic management, logistics, and communications plans at each site have helped strengthen the partnerships success and minimise any disruption to local residents and deliver incredibly high quality new homes.

With both organisations living by a similar DNA, there has also been a huge focus on community engagement such as local fundraising and craft days, dedicated development surgeries, the promotion of apprentice schemes, careers talks and STEM sessions with local schools to raise the profile of the construction sector.

Martyn Blackman, executive director of new homes, said: “At the heart of Bromford’s strategy is a drive to invest in homes and relationships so people can thrive and we have seen a partnership blossom with United Living thanks to these shared values which is delivering on-the-ground results for new and existing customers. We are very clear that collaborative working is one of ways for Bromford to meet our objectives and are therefore delighted to see this approach recognised by the Inside Housing Development Awards.”
