“I’ve noticed today that my cupboard door is out of line, I want to line it up, some people won’t do this job purely and simply because they’re afraid they might make a mess of it, what you should do is get your screwdriver, open the door, put your screwdriver into one of the hinges, only half a turn each time will do, close your door, have a look top and bottom, it’s not inline, open the door use your screwdriver again, half a turn and have another look and bingo we’re getting there we’ve nearly got it in line, so another half turn and we’ve done it, and that’s exactly how long it takes to re-align a cupboard door.”

“Each toilet cistern might not refill after you’ve flushed and if that’s the case what you do is take your cistern lid off again, have a look at your ballcock, if your ballcock is sitting high, push the ballcock down and it’ll release water to fill, if it doesn’t come back up so that it’s floating free, what you have to then do is have a look at this rod here that’s connected to your ballcock, sometimes it might fowl on the rest of the flush mechanism, get hold of it bend it away from where its fowling and you’ll find that your ball will then sit in the middle of you toilet and you can flush.”

“My toilet handle is loose, so I need to address it, take the lid off the unit of the cistern, have a look to see what’s going on behind there and that nut is loose, so because it’s a nylon nut you tighten it by hand, my toilet handle is perfectly sound now, if you mechanism has come apart and you need to flush the toilet you might need an engineer to come and fix it, but in the meantime what you can do is by lifting this leaver here, it’ll flush the toilet.”
