In June 2024 we announced our proposal to close the Nutfield House extra care scheme in Filton in order to regenerate the site to provide alternative affordable housing.
We notified customers living at the scheme about our plans and how we will support them to find a new home. At the time we told customers of our plans, the scheme had been half empty for most of the past two years. We have struggled to attract new residents as people in need of extra care housing in South Gloucestershire are choosing homes in the alternative schemes which are larger in size, have more modern facilities and are cheaper. After conducting a review we have decided to close the scheme and redevelop the site to provide alternative affordable housing.
