More affordable homes are coming to Bromsgrove thanks to a land deal between housing provider Bromford and housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.
Bromford, part of Bromford Flagship LiveWest (BFL), has bought land to build 116 new affordable homes off Perryfields Road in the town’s west.
This is the third deal between the two organisations since last summer. In July 2025, Bromford agreed a double purchase at Taylor Wimpey's Perryfields development – buying land to build 104 homes itself, while also agreeing to take on 106 homes built by Taylor Wimpey on a neighbouring phase.
All told, the deals will bring 326 affordable homes to Bromsgrove by 2029. The new Perryfields community will eventually comprise 1,300 homes as well as new community facilities including an extra care facility, a school and a local centre and access point off Kidderminster Road.
Lyndon Parkes, Head of Land at Bromford, said: “We’re thrilled to be delivering even more affordable homes to Bromsgrove, and we’re looking forward to working closely with Taylor Wimpey as we do so.
“The nearly 3,000-household waiting list for affordable rental housing here shows there’s a need, and our ambitious development plans will enable us to meet it wherever that need exists.”
The homes, ranging from two to four bedrooms, will include houses, apartments and bungalows. Some will be available at affordable rent, which is set at around 80% market rates, while others will be shared ownership, where buyers purchase a share of the home and pay rent on the remainder.
Helen Chard, Interim Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, said: “Providing affordable housing on our developments is a key part of our mission to create communities with homes for a wide range of buyers, so we’re delighted to have completed this deal with Bromford.
“Perryfields is becoming a thriving new neighbourhood and we’re looking forward to welcoming more new residents over the coming months and years.”
Having secured outline planning consent, Bromford will submit a detailed planning application in the coming months with work set to start on the development in 2027. The site is also part-funded by Homes England.
