Chronic pain has become a battle for Geoff. A battle that’s led him to launch his own pain management strategy. It’s a strategy that might surprise you. Geoff had a bike accident in 2011 and had to give up his home and runs art classes and shares his creations on social media.

Hello Mr Pain … before you get to me, you have to get through this … my creativity is my wall, my shield.

Geoff Campbell

Wolverhampton

In 2011, Geoff had a bike accident which resulted in life-changing injuries. After a long stay in the hospital, many elements of Geoff's life had to change. This included having to give up his existing home and starting to rent with Bromford.

Now with chronic pain, Geoff’s pain management and creativity are very much linked together. To Geoff, home is a base for creativity, it's a place to fight the pain:

“It’s my creative space, it’s something where I can just turn my creative juices into canvas and put myself into where I need to be. I’m glad I’ve got this space to be me.”.

Geoff’s story is a testament to resilience and the power of creativity in overcoming adversity. Despite the challenges brought on by his accident and chronic pain, Geoff has found a way to transform his home into a sanctuary of self-expression and healing. By channeling his energy into art, he has built a shield against the pain, using creativity as both a coping mechanism and a source of strength. His journey illustrates that, even in the face of life-altering circumstances, it's possible to reclaim control and find new purpose.
