Putting the home in homeless - The story of Griffin Place
Temporary accommodation centres, like Griffin Place in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, can bring security, shelter and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

They provide a safe place for people who have had difficult life experiences, such as escaping domestic abuse, losing their homes due to eviction, or being displaced by a fire or flood.
The team understands the unique challenges that come with homelessness and work tirelessly to provide a supportive environment.
The team work to provide shelter, but also support, working to change people's perceptions of homelessness and connect customers with resources in the community.
Take for example, one customer, Tam, who felt lost and betrayed by their family before finding a home at Griffin Place.
I was lost. I felt a little bit betrayed by family. It was heart-breaking, never knowing where you’re going to be tomorrow. That was quite a hard part
But with the help of the team at Griffin Place, Tam was able to turn the situation around.
And then the phone call came (offering accommodation at Griffin Place) and the relief of being offered somewhere to go to. I couldn’t have asked for more.
The Bromford colleagues at Griffin Place understand the challenges and as scheme manager, Celina Wieremiejczyk describes:
