Earlier this month, customers at David Garrick Gardens had a unique opportunity to observe a live fire service training exercise. The exercise took place in an empty flat on the seventh floor, with four fire engines and a platform involved to demonstrate procedures in the event of a real emergency.

Residents were able to engage with the Fire Service team throughout the exercise, observing safety checks and learning about evacuation procedures. The training also included participation from Bromford colleagues, including the Neighbourhood Coach, and Building Safety Manager.

The exercise allowed customers to see how safety measures, such as sprinklers, smoke alarms, and door checks, are carried out in practice. Following the exercise, Bromford colleagues shared lessons learned at the next customers meeting, reinforcing confidence and reassurance about safety procedures within the building.

This event demonstrated how customers can actively get involved in the safety management of their home, helping them to understand the processes in place and feel more secure in their environment.
