We're delighted to have completed a deal with Taylor Wimpey that will create more than 200 affordable homes in Bromsgrove.

In the last month we've completed the purchase of a 6.7 acre parcel of land at the homebuilder’s Perryfields Development in the Worcestershire town, where it will build 104 rental and shared ownership homes. The new homes, which will be a mixture of two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses, apartments and bungalows, will be built by our in-house construction team, with work due to start in 2026.

At the same time we have agreed to acquire a further 106 homes on an adjacent phase of the development. These homes will be built by Taylor Wimpey and handed over in phases between 2026 and 2028.

Head of Land Lyndon Parkes said: “According to Government figures, average house prices in Bromsgrove are £333,000 and with monthly rents approaching £1,000, there’s a clear need for more affordable housing in the area. So we’re delighted to have agreed this double deal with Taylor Wimpey to provide additional affordable rental and home ownership homes for local families and look forward to working with them on this important development.

“We believe that by providing families with safe, secure, affordable homes there’s no limit to what they can achieve. Which is why we want to accelerate our house building programme through the acquisition of land to develop ourselves and by working in partnership with developers like Taylor Wimpey to provide quality homes that meet the needs of local communities.”

Helen Chard, Land Director at Taylor Wimpey North Midlands, said: “We’re proud to play a role in addressing the region’s housing needs by facilitating this important land sale. This partnership marks a step forward in supporting accessible, high-quality housing development that benefits both the local community and future residents.”

We are a strategic partner of Homes England and in 2021 we received £240 million to help fund the development of new homes, including the homes we will be building at Perryfields.
