Families in the Worcestershire village of Offenham are set to benefit from 42 more affordable homes, bringing a major village development to 76 homes in total.

This comes after we completed a deal with land and development specialists Terra Strategic. Construction is already under way for 34 affordable homes at the Elk Park site, off Three Cocks Lane.

Frankie Catchpole, Land and New Business Manager at Bromford, said: “We’re thrilled to be delivering even more affordable homes within this historic village, and we’re looking forward to working closely with the local authority to do so.

“We’ve got ambitious development plans, but we know there’s a need for more affordable housing in the Midlands and developments like this allow us to continue meeting that need.”

The new homes will be all affordable, and will comprise a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom rented and shared ownership homes and bungalows. The rented properties will be below market rate for families on the local housing waiting list. The shared ownership properties represent a more affordable route to home ownership, whereby residents buy shares and pay rent on the remaining value.

All the homes will also be delivered with air source heat pumps, providing cheaper and more efficient heating, as well as charging points for electric vehicles.

James O’Shea, Managing Director of Terra Strategic, said: “It’s been a pleasure to have worked with Bromford on the land in Offenham, supporting the delivery of much-needed affordable housing in the area at the Elk Park site.

“With this being the second phase of the development, we hope to keep working with Bromford and hopefully see the development extend even further in the future to get more affordable housing in Offenham.”

Elk Park is backed by Homes England funding. A start on site is expected in summer this year, with all homes due for handover to families sometime in 2027-2028.
