Home surveys help us understand the condition of your home so we can plan future repairs and improvements. They also help us spot potential issues, such as damp and mould, at an early stage, helping us keep your home safe, comfortable and in good condition.
The information we collect helps us keep our records up to date so that we can continue investing in our homes. This is an important part of making sure we're responding to issues quickly and meeting the standards set out in Awaab's Law.
By allowing us access to your home, you're helping us keep our records up to date, ensuring your home can be considered when we make decisions about future investment.
What to expect
If your home is due for a survey, we'll contact you to arrange an appointment.
- The structure of your home, including walls, roofs, windows and doors
- Your kitchen and bathroom, including fittings, plumbing and ventilation
- Visible electrical items, such as sockets and your fuse box
- The general condition of your home and any maintenance that may be needed
Why should I take part?
The survey helps us understand what improvements your home may need in the future.
For example, it helps us plan when things like kitchens, bathrooms, windows and roofs may need replacing. It also helps us identify repairs, maintenance issues and concerns such as damp and mould that may need attention.
If we identify anything that needs urgent attention, we'll arrange for it to be dealt with as quickly as possible. However, if we haven't surveyed your home recently, we may not have the up-to-date information we need to plan future improvements.
That's why it's important that we can access your home when a survey is due.
