Video guide: change a fuse

Step by step guide: change a fuse

  • Before starting, check the user manual for your appliance to determine the correct amp rating for the fuse. Always use a plug and fuse of the correct amps to suit the appliance to avoid any electrical hazards.
  • Locate the fuse on the plug and identify the middle screw. Unscrew the screw and remove the top of the plug to access the fuse. Pull the fuse out gently.
  • Take the replacement fuse, check it has the correct amp rating, and insert it in the slot where the old fuse was. Push it in firmly but gently until it clicks into place.
  • Once the new fuse is in place, replace the back of the plug and tighten the screw back into place.
  • Insert a screwdriver into the little slot, lift it up and use your fingers to lift the fuse up. Take the replacement fuse and insert it into the slot. Push it down until it clicks into place.
  • Once the fuse has been replaced, plug it back in and test the appliance to ensure it is working correctly.
