Due to significant demand, Customer Alterations are pausing new applications until Wednesday 16 September, if this relates to Home Ownership or Shared Ownership, these will proceed as normal.

Welcome to David Garrick Gardens

This page explains the safety systems, evacuation plans, and contact details for your buildings, Garrick and Boswell, Bloomsfield Crescent.

Fire safety systems

Each building has a comprehensive fire alarm system that covers all areas, with detectors and manual call points throughout. The alarm will only sound in the building affected by fire.

  • the alarms are linked directly to the Fire Service via an alarm receiving centre
  • each flat has its own smoke and heat detectors that sound locally

  • fire sprinkler systems are installed throughout flats, staircases and lobby areas linked to main fire alarm
  • heat detectors in flat hallways connect to the main building alarm

  • wet risers are installed for Fire Service use

  • both lifts have fireman’s override control

Your evacuation plan

In the event of a fire, you should follow our Stay Put policy. This means you should stay in your home unless it’s directly affected by smoke, heat, or fire.

If a full evacuation is needed, the Fire Service will manage it and guide everyone to the correct assembly point.

If you're using the community hub or communal areas when the alarm sounds, you should leave the building immediately.

Customer engagement plan

Our Customer Engagement Plan outlines how we want to work with you to make your neighbourhood a better place to live.

Get your voice heard

We want you to have your say about the safety of your high-rise building. There are lots of ways to get involved and help us keep your building safe.

Ways to get involved

When you sign up
We share key information about building and fire safety with all new customers.

At your annual tenancy review
We’ll go over building and fire safety again and answer any question

Monthly block inspections
We carry out regular checks of your building to make sure it’s safe and well maintained

Quarterly community surgeries
Once every three months, we open up our monthly block inspections to colleagues from our repairs, fire safety, and gas teams.

These sessions are a chance to meet you, discuss any issues, and walk around the building together to spot any safety concerns.

Leaseholders and their tenants

Leaseholders and their tenants are an important part of our high-rise engagement strategy. They’re always welcome to take part in community surgeries and share their views on building safety and repairs. We’ll make sure all feedback is recorded and followed up.

We are recruiting volunteer involved customers.

Involved customers live in our high-rise blocks and have an interest in safety and the block they live in. They are the people who can see first-hand if something is not right and needs to be fixed.
