Align a kitchen cupboard door

If your kitchen cupboard doors become loose or are no longer aligned, you need to adjust the hinges.

Step by step: adjust the height of your kitchen cupboard doors

  1. Open your cupboard door so you can access the hinges.
  2. Use a screwdriver to loosen the top and bottom screws on the door hinges attached to the cupboard. Do not loosen the screws on the door.
  3. The door will now move up and down.
  4. Hold the door in the desired position and tighten the screws.

Step by step: fix uneven gaps in your kitchen cupboard doors

  1. Open your cupboard door so you can access the hinges.
  2. You will need to adjust the screw closest to you on the hinge.
  3. Use a screwdriver screw closest to you on on the door hinge attached to the cupboard.
  4. To adjust the door outwards, you need to turn the screw clockwise.
  5. To adjust the door inwards, you need to turn the screw anti-clockwise.
  6. Adjust the screw as desired and test the door closure to ensure it is in the correct position.
  7. You may need to do this a few times to make sure the door is adjusted correctly.
