“If your door is closing into the frame, but it’s loose, rattly and drafty, like so, this is what you’ll need to do.”

“You need to look on the inside of your door frame. You’ll either need an Alan key or a screwdriver for this. To determine what you need, you’ll need to look at the fixings on the keep plate here. In this case, we need a screwdriver.”

“So what we’re going to do – we’re going to loosen up these two fixings here. The plate then becomes loose, and because that door is rattly, we need to move the keep inwards so it then keeps the door tighter into the doorframe.”

“So, we’re going to move it in, like so. Once it’s in the position you want it in, retighten the screws. You may have to do this several times to make sure the door is in the right position so the door is shutting okay.”

“Once you’ve done this, you need to test the door to make sure it is shutting and locking correctly. Job done!”

“If you find the door is shutting into the frame, but not latching, like so, then you need to follow exactly the same process but in the other direction. So you’ll need to loosen those two fixings, and move the keep out.”
