Staircasing to own 100% of your home

Our homes are available to purchase with Shared Ownership. Once your home is purchased you will have the option to increase the amount of your shared ownership home that you own. This is called Staircasing. The greater the share you buy in your home the less rent you will pay to your home. Ultimately staircasing to buy 100% of your home, means you become an outright owner, and you will no longer need to pay rent.

Council tax banding is not currently available. To find out more about banding please refer to the Bristol Council’s website

66 East Street local area

Immediately south of the City Centre, only a ten minute walk and you’ll find yourself in Bedminster home to the renowned Upfest street art festival and the second largest area for shopping in the city of Bristol. Spanning East Street, West Street and North Street, the popular range of shops provide a diverse array of wares: from delis and family butchers to independent furniture shops and boutiques.

North Street is the centre of most of the activity in Bedminster and is popular all year round. The area is a haven for shoppers and foodies who regularly flock to the strip for stores like the Southville Deli, which sells fair trade, organic and whole foods, as well as the Sunday morning market at the Tobacco Factory.

Bedminster is also a champion for long-standing independent local businesses such as Park Furnishers who have been in the area since 1977. Cardiac sells cards and gifts, Pink Planet is an increasingly popular games exchange, Crazy Candy specialises in sweets from across the globe and All Things Nice offers beautiful and handcrafted gifts and home wares. High street brands such as Boots, Wilkinson and Asda are also among the huge selection of retailers in the area.

Bedminster Parade, East Street and West Street have a high concentration of businesses including family butchers, bakers, jewellers, antique shops, vintage boutiques, contemporary photography studios, travel agents, banks, charity shops and chemists – to name a few.

Families and little ones can head to Windmill Hill City Farm for a working farm, community garden, outdoor play area and family centre or picnic in the many parks that Bedminster has to offer such as Greville Smyth, Dame Emily, South Street and Gore’s Marsh parks.

For art lovers and theatre goers don’t miss out on the Tobacco Factory Theatres for a diverse and exciting range of events, workshops and shows including Shakespeare, opera, seasonal plays, comedy and dance.

If buying your weekly food shop at the same time as perusing works from some of the world’s most renowned street artists is your cup of tea, then Bedminster is the place to shop.

If you get tired out from all of the shopping and need a break, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs to stop at along the way. There are also several bus routes that connect Bedminster to the City Centre and the rest of Bristol.
