  • Canonbury Rise is well placed to make the most of the local amenities of the historic town of Berkeley, less than a mile from the high street which includes a selection of shops, cafes and pubs.

    The small town sits on a hill in the Vale of Berkeley, midway between Bristol and Gloucester and overlooking the River Seven.  With many listed buildings in the town, Berkeley Castle is the most famous landmark in the area, first built in the 1100s and remaining in the hands of the Berkeley family for over 900 years. Today, the castle, its landscaped gardens and butterfly house are host to events throughout the year.

    Berkeley Primary School is less than a mile from Canonbury Rise and covers pre-school all the way to year six. Rednock School in Dursley and Katherine Lady Berkeley's School in Wotton-under-Edge offer secondary and sixth form education.  Two miles from Berkeley, beside the river, stands SGS Berkeley Green UTC, a specialist college focusing on advanced manufacturing and digital technologies for learners aged 14-18.

    The town is two miles west off the A38 Gloucester/Bristol trunk road. Living in Berkeley means you'll be able to enjoy access to Stroud (27 mins*), Gloucester (30 mins*) Cheltenham (35 mins*) and Bristol (32 mins*), where there are plenty of places to eat, drink, shop and relax.

If you are interested in applying for a home at Canonbury Rise, Berkeley, please follow the application process below.

  • Register with Help to Buy. If you have already done this please email your Help to Buy reference number to the Bromford Homes Sales Team in order for us to log your interest, or call us on 0800 0852 499.

  • Check your local connection. To purchase in the Stroud District Council area you will need to have a local area connection in order of priority as below:

    1. Currently, living or work in the area
    2. Have immediate family currently living in the area (parents, siblings, or children)
    3. In the third instance we may be able to consider applicants outside of the area, if there are no applicants within the area that are proceedable.

  • As part of the application process you are required to carry out an affordability assessment and provide documents to support the application, TMP Mortgages will carry out this initial assessment.

    • Visit TMP Mortgages' website: www.tmpmortgages.co.uk
    • Click the Apply now button
    • Complete the online questionnaire
    • Your assessment will then be allocated to the correct person and an advisor will then make contact with you within 24 hours (not including weekends) they will discuss options with you and request documents required to complete the application. All documents must be provided to TMP within five working days.

  • Once you have completed all of Step 3, TMP will provide you with a reference number to show you have provided all the documents and that you meet the criteria for shared ownership. Keep this number safe and write it down along with your Help to buy reference
