Practical learner Rahima is studying Learning and Development Level 3 with HIT a national training provider and works in our Talent and Development team as a learning and development apprentice. 

We grabbed the 41-year-old, who lives in Staffordshire, to ask her how she is enjoying her time here as an apprentice. 

Hi Rahima, so why did you decide to complete an apprenticeship? 

One of the key reasons I decided to do an apprenticeship is to earn and learn at the same time; being a mom of two children it is important for me to maintain a level of income.  Also, this is a great steppingstone for me to develop my career for future roles. 

From my experience so far, I believe it is definitely the best route for anyone trying develop a career of any sort – especially if you’re hands-on like me!  

What else are you enjoying about your apprenticeship with Bromford? 

I have an amazing team.   

The benefits that Bromford offer to colleagues is great. 

The flexible working approach that Bromford offers to a working mom is great. Whether it’s Bromford or the colleague, they all share the same qualities in wanting to see you succeed as well as letting you work at your own pace so that has been important to me. In both the work and college side of things, people pick up different aspects faster or slower than others but the end goal from all parties is that they want to see that you understand. 

What are your hopes for the future?  

Completing this apprenticeship has convinced me that this is the right career path for me so I now hope to stay on with Bromford and gain a role in learning and development for the future.
