Bromford’s pledged our commitment to supporting Britain’s up and coming talent by joining a nationwide movement aimed at promoting workforces of the future.

To coincide with our support of National Apprenticeship Week 2022, which runs throughout the course of this week (7 to 13 February), we’re delighted to have signed up to the 5% Club. The movement’s a collaboration of more than 500 employers who are providing ‘earn and learn’ graduate and apprenticeship opportunities.

By becoming their latest member, we have committed to increasing the number of apprentices, sponsored students, and graduates on formal programmes to at least 5% of our total workforce within five years. Members are also asked to publicly report their progress each year in their end of year financial statements. Existing members range from SMEs to FTSE100 companies in industries from engineering through to the legal sector.

The decision supports our strategic aim to have 100 graduates and apprenticeships in place by 2023 and comes shortly ahead of us launching the Bromford Graduate Programme – helping us address skills gaps, kick-start career pathways, bring in new talent and, ultimately, create the best team we can.

Meaningful careers

Chief executive Robert Nettleton said:

What really matters to Bromford are the people who live in our homes and we want every single one of them to thrive. Investing in apprentices and graduates is central to us achieving this aim and I’m delighted that we are joining the 5% Club which will support our drive to bring the best and brightest talent to Bromford from schools, colleges, and other sectors across the UK.

Gill Cronin, director of operations at the 5% Club, said:

We’re really pleased to welcome Bromford into membership. The 5% Club provides a fantastic network of HR professionals, sharing and learning from each other.  All our members share an ethos of creating a skilled workforce through ‘earn and learn’ development programmes, helping people develop meaningful career paths.
