Providing the right homes for our customers
A former sheltered housing scheme is set to be transformed into 18 new homes for social rent* in an exciting new regeneration project.
Site clearance work is now under way at our regeneration scheme at Chamberlayne Close, Stow-on-the-Wold, in Gloucestershire. The scheme consists of the demolition of 16 homes (15 flats and 1 warden’s house) and construction of 18 energy efficient homes for social rent which are set to be completed by August next year.
We’re working in partnership with local construction company E G Carter who are now in possession of the site and carrying out clearance and demolition for the next few weeks. Construction work is due to begin in October.
Formerly a sheltered housing scheme, Chamberlayne House, was identified under the Sheltered Housing Review as a scheme that was no longer fit for purpose for our elderly customers and had a poor energy efficiency rating.
Regeneration project manager Emma Flood said: “This is a great opportunity for us to regenerate the block and bring huge benefits to our customers and the wider community. By demolishing the existing homes and replacing them with modern, energy efficient homes, they will be affordable for our customers to run and meet their needs for the future.”
