Daventry’s first clothes bank will launch next week on Friday 20 September, offering garments to those most in need in the area.

Following a request for people to donate unwanted items, Bromford’s support team has been inundated with clothes. Katharine Rymell, senior support worker said: “We have had so much dropped in and would like to thank everyone who has made a donation. However, we are always looking for more, especially warm clothes now the weather has changed. Shoes would be particularly welcome too as well as gloves, hats and scarves.”

Following on from the success of its recent ‘Living below the Line’ campaign to highlight those living in extreme poverty, the Daventry support team will be launching the clothes bank at the Abbey Information and Resource Centre in Daventry’s market square between 1-4pm.

Katharine continued: “Everyone is welcome to attend, in fact the more the merrier! Clothes will be available to try on and there will be free refreshments.”

For anyone still wanting to make a donation, Bromford will collect from anywhere in the Daventry area or people can drop clothes into the Bromford support offices at the Abbey Centre.
