A local councillor has praised our latest new homes after touring the site with members of our development team yesterday.

Cllr Paul May, who represents the Publow and Whitchurch ward on Bath & North East Somerset Council, visited our new homes in Whitchurch yesterday, with members of the council’s enabling team. He was having a look around the first homes that have been finished at Queen Charlton Road, which we’re building in partnership with Barratt Homes.

Cllr May said: “I came with an open-mind and have been very impressed by the quality of the properties and their design and build. Quite clearly the standards that are being established are as good as, if not better, than the private sector properties. We look forward to working with the community that’s going to be living here in the future.”

Development Officer Abby Ranger said: “We were delighted to welcome Cllr May and the B&NES officers to look at our new homes in Whitchurch and showcase the work we are doing in the area. We’re pleased to be expanding our presence in B&NES and the finished homes that we visited are the first of more than 100 homes, which will be a mix of social rent and shared ownership, that we’re building in the area over the next couple of years.

“I think these are some very good quality homes and have been well-built by Barratt Homes and are enjoying working with their team to build them. We’re looking forward to delivering the rest of the new homes over the next year and I think this will have a nice community feel once they’ve all been finished.”

In total we’re building 40 new homes at the Queen Charlton Road site, which are all due for completion by the end of next year. It’s one of three local sites, with 39 new homes also being built at Staunton lane with Bellway and another 30 new homes being built in partnership with Bloor homes in neighbouring Keynsham. We’re also building five more homes with Linden Homes in Bath.
