School Gardens taking shape as construction work continues
Work to transform the site of an historic school in Stourport as part of a multi-million pound retirement living development continues to take shape.
Construction has been moving at a pace at Bromford’s new £10.5m School Gardens retirement living scheme where Tan Lane Infants School, then later Stourport First School, stood for decades from 1897. The main roof structure is now complete and work to install many of the windows and Juliet balconies is well underway.
The striking blue entrance façade, which arches around the front of the development, has now been unveiled and once opened will lead through to the communal facilities area.
School Gardens, situated on Tan Lane just minutes from the town centre, features 60 high-quality apartments for people aged 55 and over as well as a café bistro, lounge, activity studio, gym and hair and beauty salon. The range of one or two bedroom apartments will include options for rent or purchase and it is expected residents will be able to move into their new homes in April 2018.
As part of the renovation of the original school building, work is currently taking place to the roof structure to ensure it meets up-to-date building standards. Once completed, the school building will be converted into three brand new apartments.
Penny Downing, Bromford’s sales and marketing director, said: “Our in-house construction team are doing a great job on site and following the completion of the roof and main façade we are now beginning to see what the final building will look like in all its glory.
“School Gardens will offer residents a safe, secure and happy home as well as creating a vibrant and lively community for residents and the wider community to enjoy. We are very excited about this phase of the development and are currently in the process of contacting some of our first customers to give them the fantastic news that they have secured their new home here.”
A marketing suite and show apartment is open on site and interested people are asked to call 01299 825030 to book an appointment. Alternatively to find out more check out this page.
