If you’re looking for work or an exciting new challenge, more than 15 employers will be on hand with live job opportunities at a special careers fair next Tuesday (24 June).
Taking place in Sparkbrook, the employer roster includes Barclays, Aldi, West Midlands police, the Army and National Express amongst many others. Jobseekers will have the chance to find out about local job vacancies, apprenticeships, working from home opportunities and local training courses.
Information on skills training courses will be available with representatives from Solihull College and Bromford on hand to provide tips and advice. There will be presentations on building your CV and how to do your best in a job interview. Bromford has partnered with Job Centre Plus, Birmingham City Council, Midland Heart, Surestart, Sparkbrook Neighbourhood Forum and the Job Club Partnership to organise the event.
Gav Chahal, senior support worker at Bromford said: “What is so great about this is that most of the employers attending have real job vacancies and they are looking to take people on now. We are delighted at the calibre of employers, it’s a terrific opportunity for anyone living in the Birmingham area and I would urge all jobseekers to bring their CV along.”
On the actual day, a number of other workshops will also take place including registering attendees on Universal Job Match. Gav Chahal will be running one-on-one sessions on assisting individuals to create LinkedIn profiles with hints and tips on seeking employment digitally. A computer suite will be available for people to apply for jobs there and then.
The jobs fair will run from midday till 3pm at the community rooms in Sparkbrook Community and Medical Centre, 32 Grantham Road, Sparkbrook, B11 1LU.
