Customers of Bromford Support, one of Northants leading support providers, went 'Back to School' as part of an event helping to give them access to work and training
The Customer Focus Group, held at the Abbey Centre in Daventry, saw over 20 people take part in a host of activities including interview skills, CV writing as well as presentations by Adult Learning, who offer courses and support for further education.
The attendees also took their seats in a makeshift school canteen for a traditional 'jam sponge and custard' pudding, as well as playing school themed games, quizzes and a raffle.
Karen Clarke, a Support Worker for Bromford Support said the day was open to more than just customers, with local community members also welcome. She said "The aim of our Customer Focus Group is to offer our customers a social event for them to have some fun and gain confidence, as well as meeting new people. This event also had many community members, friends and family popping in to make the day a resounding success.
"Ultimately it gives our customers an opportunity to tell us what they think of our service, and we're happy to say the feedback was overwhelmingly positive."
Customers of Bromford thought the day was a fantastic success, leaving feedback on a school shirt, just like many pupils do on their last day of high school. One customer said, "Bromford put a lot of time and effort into me as a person and always make everyone feel welcome" while another wrote 'Bromford is my lifeline'.
Attendee Alex Miller said the organisers had been 'stars'. "Bromford have been really helpful, they always offer me lots of support and today has been a great example of what they do'.
Bromford Support are also set to launch their #HiddenStories campaign in the coming weeks, helping people in Northants learn more about community who need extra support and tell the inspirational stories found behind their community's closed doors.
