Hundreds of affordable homes are currently being built in communities across the Midlands and South West thanks to our Homes England partnership.

We were selected as one of Homes England’s eight new strategic partners in January 2019. The Government body awarded us £66m to start work on 1,400 affordable homes across our operating area by March 2022.

A year-and-a-half into the partnership we’ve now allocated around a third of this money towards more than 300 new homes that we’re building. Of that, £10.6m was drawn down in the first quarter of this financial year, helping to fund the construction of 140 homes. The funding is helping us reduce our reliance on section 106 agreements where we acquire a portion of homes being built on a site by a developer, to allow us to increase the land we’re buying and developing ourselves. We’re currently on-site building new homes with the funding at several sites including Oldbury, Pershore and Ombersley.
