Bromford has been announced as a finalist in a prestigious housing awards ceremony taking place later this year.
The Midlands and South West housing association is one of four shortlisted entrants in the ‘Best Retirement Scheme’ category at the 2019 Housebuilder Awards. The successful nomination is for its £10.5m School Gardens retirement living scheme in Stourport-on-Severn which opened in summer 2018 and involved the restoration of a historic Victorian primary school.
Bromford will compete against some of the best in the industry with McCarthy & Stone, Gailliford Try Partnerships, and rg +p also finalists for the award. The ceremony, which has 13 categories in total, will take place at InterContinental London – The O2 – at the end of October in one of the premier fixtures on the housebuilding industry calendar.
All four finalists had to demonstrate how they have catered for the over 55s residential market in their use of design, delivery, and customer care.
Martyn Blackman, executive director of new homes, said: “One our key aims is to build homes that enable even more customers to thrive and School Gardens is a fantastic example of how we have been able to use our expertise to provide a vibrant, new retirement living community in the heart of Worcestershire.
“It is brilliant to be nominated for this award and even better to be in the same company as some of the best providers of retirement living housing in the UK.”
The news comes just days after Bromford was named one of the country’s leading developers of affordable housing. Industry magazine Inside Housing published its annual Top 50 Biggest Builders 2019 list with Bromford named 9th after completing 1,236 new homes in 2018-19.
