Dozens of soon-to-be neighbours have started forging relationships with their new community ahead of the planned opening of a new £12m retirement living scheme in the centre of Banbury.

We've hosted a reservist’s event in the marketing suite at Park Gardens where our new multi-million pound, four-storey retirement living scheme is being built adjacent to People’s Park in the centre of the town. The development is being constructed on the Bath Road site previously belonging to Banbury and Bicester College and consists of 78 one and two bedroom apartments for rent and purchase for over 55s.

Earlier this month dozens of would-be residents enjoyed a morning of food and refreshments as they met their new neighbours, found out more information about their new home, toured the show apartments, and chatted to partners including estate agents, solicitors and a dedicated move-in service.

Tony and Jan Carey, who lived in Spain for 16 years before returning home almost four years ago to live in a nearby retirement facility, said the event had added to their excitement of moving to Park Gardens in spring 2019.

“We were one of the first reservists and we just love the vibe of the whole place – from the facilities to the location, it has everything we need,” Tony explained. “Our family live in Banbury so it’s going to make seeing them so much easier. We’re both big bowls fans and there’s a club a short walk away so we can really see ourselves being happy here and forming lots of friendships.”

Penny Downing, Bromford’s sales and marketing director, said: “It is wonderful to see so many relationships being formed before residents even move in and it only adds strength to our feeling that Park Gardens will provide a safe, secure and happy home as well as a lively community for customers and the wider community to enjoy.”

Park Gardens will also feature a range of on-site facilities including a café bistro and bar, lounge, activity studio, gym and hair and beauty salon. People interested in viewing and finding out more should call Ben or Sam on 01295 272848 or, alternatively, visit bromford.co.uk/parkgardens/.
