Lorraine Turk from Birmingham had been interested in podiatry for some time so when her circumstances changed a few years ago, she decided to go for it.

Her aim was to become self-employed and run her own mobile business. She completed an access to nursing course which allowed her to apply to university and become a qualified podiatrist.

Even after she became qualified, Lorraine struggled to build a client base. So, following some money advice from Bromford, she was encouraged to apply for a YouCan grant to help get her business going.

Lorraine received a grant of £300 which she used to buy specialist equipment and advertising for ‘Footsense Podiatry’. She now sees 15 patients a week and has plans to grow her business over the next few years.

If you have a bright idea that a £300 grant could help become a reality, please get in touch.
