Bromford’s new £10.5m retirement living scheme in Worcestershire is creating job opportunities for local firms and start-up businesses.
Construction work is well underway at School Gardens, in Stourport-on-Severn, as the land at Tan Lane is transformed into 60 high-quality retirement living apartments for over 55s. Bromford are now urging potential start-up businesses to get in touch to run the onsite hair, nail and beauty salon and add to the energy and vibrancy of the development.

The salon will welcome the wider community as well as residents and it is expected the facility will be launched by September 2017 and be open for a minimum of five-days-a-week, including Saturdays.
Those spearheading the development are also looking to employ a caterer to operate the seven-day-a-week restaurant, bistro and café which will be open to non-residents. Applicants will be assessed on their quality, innovation and pricing as well as an expectation that they will provide a select daily menu offering a range of freshly cooked food, including vegetarian options, and a variety of evening specials such as a Fish ‘n’ Chips night. As part of a 24/7 gym available solely to residents, Bromford are also looking to hire a fully-qualified personal trainer to help manage the inductions and individual fitness programmes. The gym will be fully stocked with the latest training equipment.

The multi-million pound project will feature a range of one and two bedroom apartments for independent living as well as offering residents the option of specialist support and care tailored to their needs. There are options for rent or purchase and landscaped gardens will complement the historic site where Tan Lane Infants School, and later Stourport First School, stood for decades from 1897.
