Local residents have now moved into Bromford’s first new-build homes in north Lichfield since 2006.

The homes, built by Bromford’s in-house construction team, have transformed a tired piece of land that once housed garages but was mainly used by youngsters as a place to kick a football.

Helen Minchin, neighbourhood manager said: “We are very excited that our first new-build properties in north Lichfield for some time, have now been handed over to customers."

One customer, Emma, has just moved into one of the three homes with her husband and two children. She said: “We feel so lucky to have one of these Bromford homes. Private rent is just too far a reach for us as we have been priced out of the private rental market by around £200 a month.

“We lived in a two-bedroom Bromford flat before and were on the waiting list for something bigger. We would’ve taken any house but to have a brand new, three-bedroom property is amazing. We no longer need to share a room with our son and it is literally just across the road from where we lived before so we’ve not had to move my daughter from her school and there’s been no upheaval. These houses are ideal for working families.”

Helen summed up: “We are so pleased that all the properties are handed over now and wish all our customers’ every happiness moving forward. Bromford hopes to be able to build more new homes in Lichfield in the future.”
