Bromford has responded to criticism of its customer services by both the Wiltshire & Gloucestershire Standard and a Cotswold Councillor.
Bromford believes that a recent article in the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Standard is unbalanced and misrepresents the quality of our repairs and customer services.
The article relates to a customer, Ms Louise Robertson, who had complained about damp and mould in her property. The article included a misleading photograph of a hole in the wall at her property, stating that the hole had been created by Bromford to resolve the damp and mould issues.
We did not leave the property in this condition. At the time of Bromford's last inspection the internal vent was in place and not a gaping hole; as depicted. We have raised our concerns on the integrity of reporting with the editor of the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Standard.
We have a good working relationship with the Environmental Health Team at Cotswold District Council who confirmed the condensation in the property is due to a lack of adequate ventilation and the customer failing to heat the property adequately. This was a result of Ms Robertson's gas supply being disconnected due to her failure to pay bills. We are working closely with Ms Robertson and a date has been agreed to further assist her in resolving the issues. She has confirmed to us today that she is now satisfied with our response. Our key concern is the welfare of our customers and their experience of our services is extremely important to us.
Our latest survey results in the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire region show that 93% of Bromford customers would recommend our repairs service to a friend.
Comments by David Broad
We are very concerned about comments made by the councillor, David Broad and we are seeking to make contact with him.
Cotswold District Council have confirmed that David Broad's comments are his own personal opinions and not those of the council.
We have good relationships with many of the councillors at Cotswold District Council and are working with them on a number of projects such as a new development of affordable and sustainable homes in Longborough.
We take this misrepresentation seriously and are keen to reassure our customers and partners of our high standards.
