Credit ratings drop for all housing associations

One of the major credit rating agencies, Moody’s, downgraded the UK by one notch from AA1 to AA2 due to concerns about how our economy will be affected by Brexit and leaving the single market. As a result, Moody’s have also downgraded many organisations, like housing associations and universities, who benefit from some form of government support.

At Bromford we’ve been very proud of our sector leading AA3 Moody’s rating since we were first awarded it in 2013. As a result of the UK downgrade we have inevitably been affected. Moody’s have moved all of their housing association ratings downwards in line with the UK fall and Bromford now has the rating of A1.

The good news is that we remain right at the top of the list when it comes to our position amongst other housing associations. Our new A1 rating remains the highest awarded to any organisation in our sector and does not affect our ability to continue to support the many exciting projects that we have underway.
