If your door is loose, rattly, and drafty, you need to adjust the front door latch.

Step one: Check what tool you need

Look inside your door frame to see what tool you need. You'll either need an Allen key or a screwdriver to loosen the fixings on latch.

Step two: Loosen the fixings

Use the right tool to loosen the two fixings on the keep plate. The plate will become loose.

Step three: Adjust the keep

Moving the keep inwards will keep the door tighter into the doorframe. Move the keep outwards if the door is not latching,

Step four: Tighten the fixings

Once the keep is in the right position, tighten the screws again. You might need to do this a few times to ensure the door is in the right place.

Step five: Test the door

Try opening and closing it to ensure it shuts and locks correctly. If it doesn't, go back to step three and try again.
