Providing good quality homes for our customers is really important to us and regeneration gives us an opportunity to replace some of our poor quality homes with brand new, energy efficient ones.
Some of the houses we need to regenerate are called ‘Airey’ houses and are made of a concrete non-traditional construction (non-traditionally built properties means that they are not made with a conventional brick or timber frame structure). This type of property is extremely costly to heat and as such has a poor energy efficiency rating, which is one of the main reasons we are looking to regenerate.
The regeneration of our homes may involve substantial works to existing buildings and their surrounding environment, the demolition of buildings to construct new properties or a combination of both of these.
As this issue affects a number of our homes we have decided that one of the only options open to us would be to demolish some of these houses and replace them by building brand new energy efficient ones. At present we are carrying out regeneration in the areas below.
