Tasty treats to cook up this Halloween

Halloween is around the corner. Now, get out your cauldrons, over-sized novelty spoons and jars of frog legs and pickled eyes to stir up a Halloween treat.

Ok, so you won't be doing that. But it's still a great opportunity to bake and create some treats for your family or the trick or treaters that are to come. Here are some tasty Halloween treats that you can cook up for the last day of October.

This recipe from BBC Good Food gives you the chance to let your children use their imaginations and decorate their own cakes. Buy the usual ingredients you need to create a cake and add any sweet toppings you want to create your own spider creations.

Inspired by Monsters University and the main character Mike Wisoaski, these gooey googley eyed cookies are a simple and scary treat for your little goblins.

With a picture by picture guide on how to create these cookies, the recipe doesn't requires that many ingredients and they don't take too long to bake.

There might be some witches brewing up some potions on Halloween night, Ok, maybe not. Maybe we have been watching 'Hocus Pocus' too much (Did you know a young Sarah Michelle-Geller is in that film!).

Anyway, this recipe from The Food Network combines the our love of ice cream cones and cupcakes. Although may be surprised to see that you need two carrots for these cakes.

Planning treats for halloween might become a bit of a last minute thing with busy lives. So if you're looking to give the kids a scary treat with little time to spare, simply create these 'Dracula Donuts'

Buy some novelty fangs and you have a donut which might want to take a bite out of you! Buy different sweets and you can give your children the chance to be creative with their vampires.
