Police and Bromford work together in Donnington
The Safer Neighbourhood Team at Donnington police force is working closely with us to provide an improved service to the area, extending across Donnington, Trench, Wrockwardine Wood, Oakengates, Ketley, St Georges, Priorslee and Muxton.
PC Nikki Scott and her team of three PCSO’s regularly meet with Bromford housing manager Serena Baker, to work on problem solving and travel together using the police community beat vehicle which Bromford has recently sponsored.
PC Scott said: “Joint working and a proactive approach is the bedrock of what we do. We really value the support and opportunity to network and it’s nice for residents to see that we provide a joined-up service. We have been working closely on the St Mathews Road development in Donnington over the last 12 months, helping with a traffic management plan to put in yellow lines and bollards to improve access to the estate, as well as providing increased police patrols at school times.”
Serena Baker said: “We have worked together on new developments, anti-social behaviour and domestic issues and regularly attend partnership meetings to ensure the best use of agency resources when dealing with situations. I can always call on the team for support at difficult times.
“We are delighted to have been able to provide sponsorship for the community car which has been funded in the past by others including Asda, Telford town centre and Wrekin Housing Trust and now continues to be part-funded by Lilleshall and Donnington Parish Council. The lease came up for renewal and needed the support of a further sponsor – it proved to be the ideal time for Bromford to step in and help as it would have been a shame to lose such a valuable and well-used community resource.
“Our presence is growing in the area with new Telford sites such as St Georges and residents can feel secure that we have such a good relationship and can act swiftly when needed.”
