Social business Bromford has won eight contracts to provide floating support services across Staffordshire. The new contracts commence on 13 January.

With over 50 years of experience and a strong track record and reputation for delivering quality and innovative services, Bromford will work continuously to improve and develop those services across Staffordshire including Cannock, South Staffs, Tamworth, Lichfield, Burton.

The main purpose of ‘housing-related support’ is to develop and maintain a person's ability to live independently, either in their own home or in supported accommodation.

This can include helping someone to:

  • Get their correct benefits
  • Learn to budget properly for rent and bills
  • Access a GP or dentist
  • Get on a training or education course
  • Get a community alarm service
  • Improve their social network

Customers will be able to access the services by being referred by social care services, health services, housing providers, outreach services or a local advice service. Self referrals will also be accepted.

Jo Fieldhouse, regional service leader, said: “We will be providing floating support to help socially excluded groups and more high intensity support for customers who need a greater level of help. We have already been providing support to the area but Stafford and East Staffordshire will be new areas for us so we are delighted we will be able to reach more people.”

Young people at risk

Homeless or at risk of homelessness, including statutory and non-statutory

Teenage parents and young families

Substance misuse needs, including drugs and alcohol

Domestic violence

Learning disabilities, including Autism and Asperger’s
