Bromford site manager Pete Hamon has been named a regional winner in the NHBC's prestigious Pride in the Job Awards − marking him out as one of the very best in his profession.

He won the Medium Builder category in the NHBC's West region for the outstanding quality of his work managing construction of the Priorsleap development for Bromford Homes in Telford.

Pete also received a Seal of Excellence at Birmingham's ICC on Friday (October 26) and now goes forward − with four other category winners from the West Midlands and other areas that make up the NHBC's West region − to Pride in the Job's Supreme Gala final in January.

His win earned high praise from Malcolm Lowbridge, Construction Director at Bromford's in-house construction business, Bromford Developments Ltd.

"We're all really proud of Pete and what he has achieved as site manager at our high-profile Priorsleap development in Telford," said Malcolm.

"We pride ourselves on the quality of our workmanship and the quality of our homes. We aim to achieve the very best that is possible- and that is certainly reflected in Pete's approach to the job.

"Pete is dedicated, hard-working and has a great eye for detail − and, of course, it's not just about the bricks and mortar side of the job. He's a strong leader, a great guy to work with and really helpful. Nothing is too much trouble."

Third year in a row

It's the third year in a row that Pete has picked up some kind of Pride in the Job award while working for Bromford Developments Ltd. The first was a Quality Award for the scheme at Love Lane, Cleobury Mortimer, second was a Seal of Excellence for the scheme at Church Road, Wrockwardine Wood, and now a regional winner for Priorsleap.

"Winning this latest award means the world to me," said Pete, who completed the Priorsleap development this summer and is now site manager at the latest Bromford Homes development, Penny Meadow in Kidderminster.

"It was my personal goal at the start of the Priorsleap development to bring home a Pride in the Job Quality Award for Bromford's first outright sale site − and I'm so pleased to have won the regional Medium Builder category. I hope this will help to further enhance Bromford's name in the market-place as a quality housebuilder."

Sought-after accolade

Pride in the Job awards are described by the NHBC as the most sought-after accolades dedicated to housebuilding site management in the UK. They reward site managers like Pete for the unique contribution they make to the house building process, delivering high-quality home and directing project from start to finish.

Pete was one of 450 site managers to receive an NHBC Quality Award this summer from more than 13,000 candidates across the UK.

Judges look for high-quality workmanship at every stage of the build, excellent leadership skills, technical expertise, robust health and safety processes and a certain "X-factor" that sets them apart from other site managers.
