Bromford wants YOU and YOU

Unemployed customers are being offered the chance to work with Bromford in roles that range from a trainee landscape gardener to assistant PA for the director of housing.

These are just a few of the six-month paid work placements that are being created as part of the new Opportunities for Employment (O4E) scheme launched by Bromford, one of the leading providers of affordable housing and support services in central England.

The recruitment effort is being launched with a word-of-mouth and online advertising campaign aimed at customers who are claiming benefits at the moment and want to find work.

O4E was created after the success of Bromford's Future Jobs Fund and in-house apprenticeship schemes - and economic inclusion manager James Walsh believes it will make a great difference to customers' lives.

He urged colleagues across the business to do their bit by spreading the news with team members and customers in four parts of the Bromford map.

James said: "It's all about our social investment as a landlord and provider of support to create opportunities and new value-added services that help make a positive difference to customer's lives, reducing dependency on services provided by Bromford and other public bodies.

"FJF proved that the idea works - half of the people that did the placements went on to become Bromford apprentices - and we now want to fill another 11 placements with O4E.

"Our message to colleagues is make sure you spread the word. It doesn't matter if they're general needs, receive support or own their home - if they're a customer, live with or are a relative of a customer and are looking for work, we want to hear from them!"

Bromford's online advert highlights almost a dozen vacancies in Wolverhampton, Lichfield, Cirencester and south Warwickshire.
