These are just a few of the real-life stories in Bromford's Annual Review 2011, which publishes today (Wednesday) at www.bromfordgroup.co.uk.

Called Bromford Street, it's a 24-page report that explains how colleagues, customers and partners have worked together to make a real difference during a year of seismic changes for affordable housing.

It's a difference that has enabled a customer-focused, cost-conscious Bromford to:

ACHIEVE nearly 90% of our customers saving they would recommend Bromford to their friends

GENERATE a £17.3m surplus for 2010-11 and

BEAT our housebuilding target with 657 new homes started.

These are just a few of the key performance figures at the heart of Bromford Street as it maps the first stage of our journey to become by 2016 one of the UK's top three providers of high-quality, affordable homes, supporting thriving communities

Bromford chief executive Mick Kent said: "The figures are impressive but it's the people and the places behind the numbers that brings them to life.

"That's why we have drawn vivid real-life stories from all corners of the Bromford map and put them together in the setting of a virtual street in a virtual town. This creates a vivid snapshot of the journey we've all taken together and what we've achieved.

"One of the most significant stories explains how we are making the new affordable rent model work to deliver enough homes to meet tremendous need. We are up for this challenge and the story explains how we have put together a package of internal cross-subsidies to help limited government funds deliver more homes for affordable rent and affordable ownership.

"The freedom and flexibility now on offer in the wake of the spending review, together with the financial strength we've created through efficiency savings, give us a real opportunity now to meet housing needs and to support great neighbourhoods even through these tough economic times."

Bromford Street's vivid stories - also covering other key themes such as our focus on tackling waste and re-inventing a great place to work - are matched by an equally vivid graphic style that reflects the dynamic nature of the organisation, our customers and our neighbourhoods.
